A Perfect Day – Ruth and Mark’s Wedding in Woodbridge

Ruth and Mark live in the beautiful riverside town of Woodbridge, Suffolk and chose to tie the knot just a few metres from their home.  With this idyllic town on their doorstep, why would they wish to be anywhere else?

We met up with Ruth and Mark a few months before the day to discover their hopes and dreams for this very special occasion.  We clicked very quickly and soon understood their vision.  Together we planned their photographic story that we were to capture, each adding ideas and suggestions along the way.  This meeting is so important, every wedding is different and we never assume anything.

The big day came around very quickly! A great benefit of having two photographers is that we can shoot in different locations at the same time, truly capturing every aspect of the big day.  On this occasion Fran met with Mark and his Best Man at The Riverside Restaurant before the ceremony.  This was to be the location for their wedding breakfast later on but also a perfect spot for a little pre-ceremony drink and some photographs.  The guests were also asked to gather here so they could board the fabulous red double-decker bus hired from Layer Marney Tower.  This definitely added to the fun, the guests were even given a ticket!

Meanwhile, Sally was with Ruth and her Bridesmaids at their home capturing the final moments before the ceremony.  These are always lovely moments and an opportunity to get some photographs at their home.  A short while later it was time to depart for the ceremony which was at Woodbridge Town Hall, right in the centre of the town.  To the delight of the locals, the Bride and her son walked to the ceremony.  There were cheers and photographs being taken, what a great atmosphere!

Mark was clearly moved when he saw his bride for the first time, it’s always such an honour to be able to capture these very special moments.  Once the register had been signed, the guests were invited to take photographs of the couple too.  This often kicks off the selfie shots as well, always fun to capture them in action!

Plenty of hugs, kisses and tears of happiness as the Bride and Groom walked back down the aisle to the main steps of the Town Hall.  The building is so very attractive and provided a great backdrop for photos!  With the weather behaving we were able to capture the party outside with some group shots and lots of candids too.

Then it was back on the big red bus down to their reception venue for more great candid moments.

Truly a perfect day! Thanks Ruth and Mark for having us along to capture it for you  . . .
