Dotty about you!

We were delighted when Ruth and Gareth chose us for their Wedding Photography.  To make their dreams come true, this delightful couple did things a little differently and had two wedding days!

Ruth and Gareth had always dreamt of having a garden wedding.  As their favoured garden venue is not licensed, they needed to tie the knot officially first.  On a sunny Thursday afternoon, with close family in attendance, they did exactly that.

For the ceremony, Ruth chose a gorgeous polka dot dress and found THE perfect shoes to match.  With red accessories she looked stunning.  During the ‘pre ceremony’ photography,  Ruth was incredibly relaxed and we had lots of laughs as she posed on the bed.

The couple live within walking distance of the Town Hall, now home to Colchester’s Register Office.  Ruth made her way to the ceremony through the very attractive Dutch Quarter of the town, with family at her side.  This provided us with ample opportunities for lovely wedding photography en route.  Her niece and nephew thoroughly enjoyed escorting their special Auntie Roo.

On arrival at the Registry Office, Ruth’s Dad proudly walked her up the aisle.  Exchanging vows was a relaxed but intimate affair.  Afterwards the couple posed on the steps of the Town Hall for the all important confetti shot!

Ruth and Gareth met at Colchester’s Parkrun so it was very fitting to use the bandstand as a backdrop for some wedding photography.  They received permission from the park and the bandstand was unlocked especially for them.  They enjoyed a glass of something bubbly with their family and toasted their special day.  The guests then headed off to a local restaurant to await the newly weds.  In the meantime we took advantage of the beautiful surroundings in and around the castle park for some further wedding photography.

A perfect day for Wedding number 1, stay tuned for Wedding number 2!
