Something Borrowed, Something Blue . . .

Wedding Photography at Milsoms, Dedham is always a treat for us but coupled with a small church wedding ceremony this was certainly a day to remember.  This gorgeous Spring wedding, with very close family and friends in attendance, was a delightfully intimate affair.  Because of this (and the size of the ceremony room) just one half of the Gemini duo was required to capture Shirley and Terry’s special day.

As regular faces at St Johns Church in Colchester, Shirley and Terry consider the church leader, Andy Sachs, who presided over their wedding, as more of a friend. The church itself though quite large, does have a very charming little secret: a tiny chapel which is part of the original church but rarely used. The couple were keen to have their ceremony held here as it’s so charming and snug; perfect for their wedding.

It’s lovely to capture some shots of the flower arrangements prior to the guests arrival; the flowers were beautiful and the perfume amazing; what a shame that can’t be captured on camera too!

Terry’s arrival with his son, who was also his Best Man, provided an opportunity for some relaxed shots of them before the appearance of the Bride.  Shirley’s son gave her away with Shirley and Terry’s respective daughters in attendance as bridesmaids, each dressed in elegant blue.

In such an intimate venue, the warmth and love shone through for this couple. There were some emotional and touching moments during the ceremony too.  Andy spoke so warmly about the couple giving them some tips and advice for their marriage,  practical but very amusing at the same time. He then presented them with a gift and some words of advice, ‘Marriage should be soft, strong and very very long …’

After some photographs outside the church, the wedding party headed for Mr G’s, the private dining suite at Milsoms in Dedham, for the reception.  We love Wedding Photography at Milsoms, Dedham as it is a perfect venue for capturing this smaller group and lovely that it has it’s own private little garden for that all important glass of bubbly. More photographs in the gorgeous grounds before the guests were seated for the Wedding Breakfast and speeches.

It was such a pleasure to work with this couple and their guests, they were so warm and welcoming that it made it quite hard to leave!
